VID KID, also known as Vid, Lil Bless, Young Bless, Bless Jr., Bless 2.0, Baby Bless, Baby Bless Me, AuraGod, Aura God Bless Allah, VidKidTim, Aura, Baby Bcat, Barak Yahawadah, and Young Brooklyn, was immersed in the Hip Hop culture from infancy as the protege of Bless, his father. Bless, a prominent figure in the industry, envisioned VID KID as the heir to the Bless Me Video Brand, instilling a love for Hip Hop music, culture, and the movement in him from a young age. VID KID accompanied his father everywhere, from interviews and video shoots to album release parties, studio sessions, industry events, and television stations.
Starting as an observer, VID KID evolved from a co-host on Bless Me Video to becoming a Certified TV Producer and Editor with a college degree in Media Communications. His journey involved transitioning from watching artists like Rakim from a stroller to interviewing and connecting with them as an adult. VID KID even interviewed Ghost Face Killah at the age of 12 and shared the stage with him at a live show. Recognized by rapper Mase as a "young Al B Sure," VID KID won the NYC B Free award in 2015 for "The Best Live TV Show in New York City."
After his father's passing when VID KID was 13, he took on the responsibility of both Bless Me Video and his own live TV show, SCRATCH ME TV, which launched on February 9, 2007. While Bless Me Video focused on old-school and classic Hip Hop artists, SCRATCH ME TV highlighted new school artists. For the past 14 years, VID KID has traveled the world, keeping his father's dream and love for Hip Hop alive.
Background…
The debut of VID KID involved him captivating Bless Me viewers with his charm, looks, wit, and in-studio antics alongside his father. This led to the creation of SCRATCH ME TV, a show featuring video mixes, interviews, interactions with viewers, and live performances. The show aimed to inspire kids to channel their talents into constructive activities while learning about Hip Hop culture.
Throughout his career, VID KID has interacted with numerous Hip Hop icons, including Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Aaliyah, DMX, and many more. His vast experience and dedication showcase his commitment to advancing the Hip Hop culture and honoring his father's legacy. You can catch SCRATCH ME TV live every Saturday afternoon on BPN Channel: Optimum 68, FiOS 43, RCN 83, Spectrum 1998 in NYC at 1:30 pm EST.
SCRATCH ME TV was developed to display to kids similar to the VidKid’s age at the time that you can stay out of trouble by using your talents to do something constructive while having fun and learning about HIP HOP CULTURE. Going live on BLESS ME VIDEO WITH HIS DAD gave the VID KID a sense of responsibility and also let other kids his age watching him know that you can do something positive in the Community through the vehicle of HIP HOP and still stay in school.
VID KID's credits extend to being the poster child for Starrett City (now Spring Creek Towers), appearing in Channel 13's campaign to support PBS programs, and being featured in Spring Creek Sun & Daily News in 2001. He served as a hype man for various Hip Hop greats, hosted Bless Me Video Showcases, organized a Bless Me Comedy Special, and had his radio show, Bless Me Radio, from 2012-2018 on 90.5 FM.
